Ahmedabad – Nalsarovar Bird SanctuaryStart the morning with a boat ride across the tranquil wetlands of Nalsarovar, one of India’s largest bird sanctuaries. As the sun rises, witness flocks of flamingos, pelicans, painted storks, and spoonbills gliding over the water. This vast lake and marsh ecosystem attracts over 200 species of birds, especially during winter migration. Post-lunch, explore the surrounding marshes and mudflats for species like the Purple Moorhen, Greylag Goose, and Black-headed Ibis.
Thol Bird SanctuaryA short drive takes us to Thol, a scenic artificial lake surrounded by acacia and scrubland. It is known for large gatherings of Sarus Cranes, as well as waterfowl such as Spot-billed Ducks, Comb Ducks, and Openbill Storks. Watch flocks feed and interact in their natural rhythm. The peaceful environment and shallow waters make it ideal for capturing birds at close quarters.
